Power and internet have been on and off over
the last couple of days. Today power out for
most of the day and loads of rain rain rain.
We dug out an old favorite book..."How to Dig
a Hole to the Other Side of the World".

That led to some interesting plate tectonic
conversation which led to talking about the
"ring of fire" AND that led us to volcanoes.
We got out Brandon's volcano kit....obviously
we were not the only ones interested in this
stuff ;-)
Here we created a wee blue volcano....

Brandon preparing to add acid to the base...
note Taz standing near the "Mind Blowing
Science Secrets"..preparing to have his mind
blown!

That was so much fun the boys made their
own personal volcanoes.....

Definitely need to stock up on the baking soda
and vinegar!

About a year ago we read "Toad Rage" and
loved it....I discovered two more in the series
and we've had a blast reading these.
So much fun that now that we've finished it feels
like something is *missing* (Limpy where are you?!?)
and we're lookingfor another series to get into.

We came across the word "diorama" and Brandon
excitedly wanted to create one representing one
of his fave scenes in the book Toad Heaven.
Here the Cane Toads Limpy and Charm and Goliath
are searching for the "National Park" which in this
case turns out to be an underwater one....they meet
a turtle and Limpy makes a "snorkel" from a hollow
palm frond.
Brandon's creativity never ceases to amaze me!

"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognize how good things really are" Marianne Williamson

It's been a while since I've posted...I could tell a whole "series of unfortunate events" but I'm not gonna!!! The *goodness* of my life has been ever-present.
I never realized when I started this photo blog just how empowering it would be to *see* the presence of that goodness Every~Single~Day thru the lens of my camera. The concrete act of choosing to look for something positive, beautiful, inspiring, real...even while my mind was overloaded with troubling events has been soul soothing.
